Bankside Gallery
What Visitors Say
We have visited the Bankside Gallery on previous trips to London and always found it a really enjoyable experience with high quality work on display in a light and airy modern gallery space. There are toilet facilities but no cafe, and part of the space is given over to a lovely shop selling books, paper, prints etc. Our most recent visit was inspired by randomly meeting one of the exhibitors,Ronald Cowdery, on a train journey as he was on his way down to London to display his work. The exhibition was taking place whilst we would be in London so we decided to pop in. Visiting members of the public were invited to vote for their favourite piece-very difficult to choose as there were so many wonderful works on display!
Here, the SOCIETY OF WOOD ENGRAVERS holds its yearly exhibition, and many artists are invited to participate based on their creations. Highly recommended.
Loved visiting Bankside Gallery! Wonderful exhibitions and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. Highly recommend! 🤍
Great small gallery having regular changing exhibitions - mainly of either all prints or all watercolours, but they do have other mixed exhibitions. It has an art based bookshop, and they sell a good range of unframed prints.
The Bankside Gallery on the Thames offers a unique atmosphere for visitors, and the exhibition's opening featured works from various artists, creating a wealth of styles and themes. I was especially impressed by the use of etching, which added depth and detail to the works, making them exceptionally striking.
