About Peacock Theatre
Cats and The Snowman became seasonal favourites here, but the longest continuous modern programming is Sadler’s Wells dance seasons, running annually for decades.
Venue Tips
✨ Best For
Dance, ballet, family shows and seasonal productions like The Snowman. Also great for audiences who prefer smaller venues with strong sightlines.
💺 Best Seats
Rows D–M in the Stalls for close views of choreography and facial expression. Front centre of Dress Circle offers excellent value with full stage visibility.
⚠️ Seats to Avoid
Far-side seats at the back of the Dress Circle can reduce detail. The first rows of the Stalls may be too low for large scenic elements.

🤓 Fun Facts
The current theatre was built in 1960 in the basement of an office building and was originally named the Royalty Theatre.
It is part of the LSE campus and is used daily for lectures, talks and conferences.
The theatre has hosted everything from ballet to pop concerts, including The Rat Pack in 2002.
The stage is unusually close to the first rows, making it popular for dance productions.
Because of its history, some staff insist the theatre has a resident ghost — linked to an earlier theatre on the site.
