Peacock Theatre is a 994-seat West End venue on Portugal Street, owned by the London School of Economics and operated in partnership with Sadler’s Wells. Known for dance, ballet and award ceremonies, it offers excellent sightlines across Stalls and Dress Circle and sits just a short walk from Holborn and Temple stations.

🤓 Fun Facts

The current theatre was built in 1960 in the basement of an office building and was originally named the Royalty Theatre.

It is part of the LSE campus and is used daily for lectures, talks and conferences.

The theatre has hosted everything from ballet to pop concerts, including The Rat Pack in 2002.

The stage is unusually close to the first rows, making it popular for dance productions.

Because of its history, some staff insist the theatre has a resident ghost — linked to an earlier theatre on the site.
