MOCA, London
An independent project space in Peckham curated by artist–scholar Michael Petry, MOCA London stages compact, idea-driven exhibitions across sculpture, installation, moving image and performance. Shows are often devised with the artists in response to the intimate gallery architecture, so process, materials and installation choices are foregrounded as much as finished objects.

Project Room Exhibitions
Single-room shows concentrate attention on one body of work or a tight dialogue between artists.Look for how lighting, plinth height and wall colour are used as active ‘materials’ in small-scale installation.

Material Conversations
Frequent focus on glass, ceramics, textiles and cast forms reflects Petry’s interest in contemporary craft crossing into fine art.Track how traditional processes (casting, weaving, kiln-forming) are pushed toward conceptual ends.

- Curator Michael Petry’s dual background (studio practice and museum scholarship) shapes exhibitions that pair craft techniques with contemporary theory.
- The gallery’s deliberately small footprint encourages site-specific display solutions—many works are scaled or configured uniquely for this venue.
